WHERE’S JOHNNY? ISAKSON OVERSEES DEBT INCREASE OF MORE THAN $12 TRILLION

Isakson has voted to increase the debt ceiling 8 times

He voted for multiple Congressional Pay Raises

ATLANTA – While Senator Isakson regularly has missed committee hearings, one thing he has not missed is an opportunity to increase our national debt, which has gone up more than $12 trillion since he went to Washington. In fact, Isakson has voted eight times to increase the debt ceiling, while voting for multiple pay raises and seeing his salary increase by nearly 25% and opposing minimum wage increases for working men and women.

  • In 1998, the year before Isakson went to Washington, the national debt stood at $5.5 trillion. By 2015, it had more than tripled to $18.2 trillion. During that period, Isakson has been a consistent vote to raise the national debt limit, voting to do so at least eight times.

It’s been 8 days since Jim Barksdale challenged Senator Isakson to debates about the economy in each of Georgia’s primary media markets without a response.

With multiple public polls showing that Barksdale is within single digits, will Senator Isakson tell Georgians why he has not done his job yet votes to give himself more money?
